Works on Paper

The works are in oils on a prepared ground. The black edge is where the ground is left so that the oil paint doesn't cross onto the unprimed paper.

I have kept this black border on my larger paintings as it reminds me of old wet photography where the photographic artist would file out the negative carrier to confirm that the image was 'as taken and not 'cropped'.
